Hello Friends of Shirley J!

Everytime I think of the exciting time we are having, and going to have, introducing everyone in the country to the fabulous world of Shirley J products, I get excited. Our new office/store lately has been a beehive of activity as people have come in for the cooking demonstrations and to learn more of our products.

Dunford Bakery Products Join Shirley J
One of the things that my partners and I have experienced since we first entertained the idea of purchasing Shirley J, is that doors have been opened to us nearly every day. We have discovered people who have known and loved Shirley J Products for years and now want to be part of the future of Shirley J, as customers, advisors, consultants, suppliers and so on. It has been overwhelming! Every conversation yields a new contact; a new person who is enthusiastic about the future of Shirley J! Our phones were connected in March 2009 and almost immediately began to ring. People were seeking us out!

One of the great happenings is our encounter with Doug Dunford. Doug is a Certified Master Baker with a very long and impressive pedigree in the world of Baking. Doug developed a line of higest quality “Just Add Water” bakery mixes some time ago and has marketed them in various ways since development. After our first meeting with Doug, we were convinced that the marriage of Shirley J and Dunford Bakery Products was a perfect match. (In fact, interestingly enough, Doug Dunford and Don Smith were good friends and even shared common facilities for some time. . . ). Just recently, Shirley J Ventures LLC; our official company name, agreed to acquire Dunford Bakery Products to make them permanently part of our product line. Our plan is to introduce 8 of these fabulous products into our permanent product offering:

* Honey White Bread
* Honey Wheat Bread
* Sour Dough Bread
* Corn Muffin
* Biscuit
* Sweet Roll
* Basic Cookie
* Pancake and Waffle

When we were discussing the possibility of adding these products to our line, the thing that convinced us was the fact that these products, like Shirley J’s products have been time proven. Doug began formulating these mixes over 25 years ago and have been used in home and institutional applications throughout the United States. Additionally, over the years, Doug has documented hundreds of variable applications for these mixes, again making these simple products a universal component in home cooking.

My wife Arlene had the assignment to make bread for the Open House this week using our new Dunford Bread Mixes. I can’t tell you how excited she was. The bread turned out perfect and she couldn’t stop talking about how easy it was and how perfect the results. I wanted to give you some additional information about our products in general in this segment. As we go along, we will be giving you specific information on all individual products to allow you to understand how to use and enjoy each and every product in the Shirley J line.
