Easy to make and delicious to eat who can resist the goodness of a homemade Brownie Cake with Ganache Frosting? Yummy!
Ingredients:
Cake
3 ½ c Shirley J Fudge Brownie mix
2 Eggs, cracked and beaten
½ c Hot Water
1T Corn Syrup
Ganache Frosting
¾ c Heavy Cream
2 ½ c Bitter Sweet Chocolate chips (1 ½ bags)
Directions:
Cake
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Only mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Place into two greased 8” cake pans. Bake at 375 for about 10-15 minutes. Check center with butter knife before removing from the oven. The center of the cake should still be a little under cooked, but not liquid. Remove from oven and let cool. When the sides of the cake are pulling away from the pan run a butter knife around the edged and remove the cake, allow it to cool completely.
Frosting
Place a small sauce pan with water on the stove, on medium heat. Pour chocolate and cream together in a metal bowl and place on top of the sauce pan. The heat from the water will allow the chocolate to melt without burning. Mix chocolate and cream together with a rubber spatula. When the chocolate is almost completely melted, remove from the heat and continue to stir until chocolate is smooth and shiny.
While the frosting is still warm, frost the cake upside down and add the second layer. Repeat until the entire cake is frosted. For best results let the frosting cool before serving.
